FAQs
Are these sessions covered by insurance?
Most extended health insurance providers do cover certain number of counselling sessions per member per calendar year. For this you typically need to receive a service from a registered counsellor. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in British Columbia. I will be providing you with the necessary information you need to submit a claim to your insurance company. I strongly advise my clients to contact their insurance company to get confirmation of coverage for services provided by an RCC before registering for sessions.
How does the online format work?
I use a HIPAA compliant, online tool to provide secure, private counselling sessions. You will receive a link via e-mail prior to your session through which you can log into the system. For the Expressive Art Therapy program a video camera is mandatory. For the other programs a video camera is highly encouraged but not necessary if you prefer to have one or all of your sessions over the phone.
Do you provide services in emergency cases?
No.
What happens at the free consultation?
The free consultation session gives you a chance to get to know me and ask any questions you might have about the programs. It will also give me a chance to learn more about your specific situation and decide whether I can be of help or otherwise refer you to an agency that is equipped to deal with your particular situation. If we both agree that this is a good match then we will work on a roadmap specifically tailored to your needs.
What if I have other questions?
If you have questions not covered in this FAQ section, please book a free consultation and we can go over them together.
